Ready to have what you thought was the legend of Camylot be thrown out the window?

I, Guinevere by C.K. Brooke gives us another idea of what could have happened in the legends of Camylot and of course King Arthur. Instead in this one, we have it different, and I liked this version a lot. I read this book in a whole day, and I love the subtle differences between this novel and what we already know.

What I liked:

• A stable version of Guinevere and one that actually can handle herself.
• That it is in the first-person point of view which fabulous since its Queen Guinevere herself telling us her tale if it had been in the third-person point of view, it wouldn’t be so perfect.
• The plot twists. I love those plot twists, and this book definitely has some great ones. No spoilers, you’ll have to read it to find out.
• I love the magic of it since it seemed to make the story better. It isn’t like any other type of King Arthur lore. Well even more so since it’s Guinevere with the sword.
• The romance that you wouldn’t expect to find, scattered throughout the book.

What I didn’t like:

There isn’t much that I didn’t like about this book. I thought it was excellent. Okay so I didn’t like at times the way that Arthur was reimagined, but it sooo fits this story.

Five Star

I, Guinevere by C.K. Brooke is a fantastic retelling of an Arthurian mythology book that took the tale into a turn that I didn’t expect. I am super pleased with the ending of this book, and it was a marvelous read. Ms. Brooke has a great way of spinning a tale, and this book is my first written by her. Guinevere is a fully developed beautiful character that I love.
