Elli Veil is only eleven years old but doesn’t look it. She is different than the other kids in Box Hollow and notices things that she shouldn’t. Elli is also smart and tries her best to be the best she can be even if she doesn’t know what that is. I quite like Elli and how she took on her quest to save the star that disappeared which happens to be the North Star. The biggest way that she is different from the other kids is that she wants to learn things that normally a person doesn’t care to know about in Box Hollow.

All anyone cares about in Box Hollow are things that are squares and anything to do with the Ruler. Everyone but Elli Veil is like that since she spends her spare time looking out her bedroom window at Square One to watch the stars. Elli tries her hardest to not be weird and be like everyone else but its just too hard. After she notices that a star is missing she goes looking for answers and Elli ends up going away from the town. Elli has to find seven different Wanderers who will give her a riddle to solve.

My rating for Elli Veil and the Constellation Prize by Kat Saturn is five stars. Ms. Saturn is a fantastic author and I love the riddles that she included into the story. I foud myself trying to solve them with Elli as she got them. I like stories that make me think and learn with the main character. Ms. Saturn is definitely an author I will keep an eye on for future stories. I am also recommending this book.
