The truth will set you free – or it will kill you.
Kat Lawson’s new undercover assignment has turned deadly. A trip to Vietnam to write a travel feature for Journey International while making a drop to deliver cash and passports for a top-secret operation has gone awry. Kat has a choice to make and a target on her back. She can live with a secret, or she can reveal a truth that puts her in the crosshairs of an enemy sworn to kill her. With the lives of trafficked children at stake in a country where agents and double agents trade secrets, Kat must choose between the acceptance of a truth that will forever change her life or living a lie that will save the lives of others.
A Spy in Saigon by Nancy Cole Silverman takes Kat on her next adventure.
Will Kat make it out of Saigon alive?
This assignment turns dangerous quickly. Kat is supposed to write an article about Vietnam and deliver a package to a jeweler. Sounds simple. However, when it comes to Kat Lawson, nothing is simple. She is like a trouble magnet. Not that she goes looking, but if it walks by, she will chase it down.
I really like Kat’s tenacity and her grit. She knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to go after it. I suspect that Kat comes from a long line of adventure seekers, even if they don’t acknowledge it. I will say that I don’t think being her handler is an easy job.
The Mystery
Kat’s original task blows up, and the package becomes one of the many moving parts in Kat’s newest investigation. She finds part of her that has been lost for years, but doesn’t know if it will return to her. Kat helps some young children and burns her cover in the process. It is a challenge, but she makes it to the airport in one piece.
Five Stars
A Spy in Saigon by Nancy Cole Silverman is five stars. Kat Lawson’s adventures are so wonderfully written and have the perfect combination of history, mystery, and espionage. I recommend them to all mystery readers.
