Plot Summary:
Sitting in her nearly empty store, Hannah Swensen can only hope that the popularity of the new Magnolia Blossom Bakery is just a passing fad. The southern hospitality of Eden Lake’s two newest residents, Melanie and Vanessa Quinn, is grating on Hannah’s nerves — and cutting into her profits. Then Hannah finds Melanie shot to death. Everyone in town knew the Cookie Jar’s business was suffering…which makes Hannah a suspect.
Based on characters from the Hannah Swensen Series by Joanne Fluke.
My Rating:
My Thoughts:
Alison Sweeney and Cameron Mathison return to solve another mystery. This time not so much as together as they sort of normally do. Hannah is in trouble as she and another local bakery owner started a competition of Peach Clobbers. When that bakery owner is found dead with Hannah standing over her dead body, it doesn’t look good for our Hannah.
Norman assists Hannah on her quest to clear her name. Yes, the dentist is helping solve a mystery. So, that Hannah can stay out of jail. It was good to see Hannah working with someone other than Mike in this one, especially since Mike and Hannah are on a rocky road. Norman is a great guy; he and Hannah get along well.
Hannah and Delores played by Barbara Niven, are quite the pairing. Barbara Niven does a fantastic job in this movie. I love it how she doesn’t seem to know what to do about Hannah always finding or being in the vicinity of the dead body. Hannah and her sister, Andrea played by Lisa Durupt, are also quite the pairing. These two are so funny, especially when Hannah ends up bringing her sister to try and find clues to help in the murder investigation, even though she shouldn’t. These three awesome ladies make a great family. The dynamics are funnier since Andrea spills the beans unknowingly about something and that spirals out of control from there.
This excellent cast has done another fantastic job on this movie. I couldn’t believe who did it since I didn’t see it coming. Well not until some of the clues started to make sense. Then I couldn’t believe that I didn’t see it. These movies are great to get the mind thinking about who could have done it.
