Welcome to Alienn, Arkansas where the aliens from outer space hide in plain sight at the Big Bang Truck Stop.

Gage Grey is happily buried in his lab when folks in Alienn, Arkansas, suddenly start falling—literally—asleep and can’t be woken up. The big brain of the Grey clan better solve this problem in a hurry, because the seven-year Earth Colony inspection is looming. If everyone is asleep when the inspection team arrives, that might be the end of the Big Bang Truck Stop, abovestairs and below.

A trained pilot, Charlotte Westbrook has worked hard to earn respect in her role as a science officer for the Technician Class Technology Institute on Alpha-Prime. She’s puzzled but intrigued when she’s diverted from a mission to go to the Earth Colony—and not unhappy at all to work with a handsome fellow scientist.

As Gage and Charlotte get closer to finding a cure, evidence starts to pile up against her. Now, not only do they have to heal the sick Alphas, they have to find out who the real villain is.

Because Gage minus sweet, smart Charlotte is one equation he refuses to solve.

While Aliens Were Sleeping by Fiona Roarke is a fantastically fun story with romance, mystery, and alien politics.

Will the Science Nerds Unite?

Gage Grey

Gage is our hero. He is a scientist at the Big Bang Truck Stop in Alienn, Arkansas. The truck stop is an alien colony on Earth. However, the earthlings don’t know that they are here. Yes, he is an alien. His family is in charge of the truck stop/colony.

I was immediately drawn to Gage and his demeanor. He is brilliant and has a sense of humor. Gage takes his job and science very seriously and doesn’t like it when people stick their noses in his experiments, which I can understand. I also like the way he is nice to his aunt.

Charlotte Westbrook

Charlotte, our heroine, is also a scientist, but she is from their home planet. She lands on Earth at an inopportune time, when the truck stop/colony is preparing for the big inspection from the home planet. Charlotte is blamed for the strange things happening to the aliens here on Earth. Gage and Charlotte hit it off as they both love science and work well together.

I like Charlotte. At first, I was trying to figure out why she didn’t know what was happening. As things started happening after she arrived on Earth, I did believe in her innocence. While Aliens Were Sleeping CR

Alienn, Arkansas

I loved the setting. Who would think to look to Arkansas to have actual aliens? The fact that Ms. Roarke uses a truck stop with an alien theme is fantastic. I love how she created the reason for them being here and how the facility is laid out and connected to Nocturne Falls, Georgia, a series by Kristen Painter.

My rating for While Aliens Were Sleeping by Fiona Roarke is five stars. I love this story. I highly recommend it. If you like sweet romance with a twist of Sci-fi, this will be perfect for you.

About Fiona Roarke

Fiona Roarke

Fiona Roarke is a multi-published author who lives a quiet life with the exception of the characters and stories roaming around in her head.

She writes a Sci-Fi contemporary romance series set in Arkansas. When she’s not curled on the sofa reading a great book or at the movie theater watching the latest action film, Fiona spends her time writing about the next alien who needs his story told.

A hearty dose of laughter, each and every day, is required along with lots of coffee first thing in the morning as important parts of her routine.
