The Baroness’ thoughts about baking Samantha Sweet’s Chocolate Nut Drops
First, I gathered all of the ingredients together and got everything that I would need. The recipe is straightforward and easy to follow. I substituted mint chocolate chips for the nuts. My step-dad doesn’t like nuts in baked goods, and he will probably eat most of these cookies. I also decided after the first batch to drop two teaspoons of batter instead of the one teaspoon on the directions. This change made the total amount of cookies yielded around four dozen.

The Baroness’ thoughts about the Chocolate Nut Drops
The Chocolate Nut Drops are delicious. I like the chocolate and the mint. The cookie is cake-like, soft and sweet. I will be making these Chocolate Nut Drops again, maybe next time I will use peanut butter or butterscotch chips.
A special thanks to Connie Shelton for including this recipe in her book, Spellbound Sweets. Please feel free to check out my review of the fifth Samantha Sweet Cozy Mystery.
