Plot Summary:

Melanie is an award-winning investigative journalist in Boston who returns home to her small town of Cherry Springs for a much-needed break after the fallout from a major story. Her Uncle Joe is thrilled to have his niece home as she’s his only remaining family after Melanie’s mother passed away. Her quiet visit home quickly becomes anything but that when her childhood friend Tony suddenly goes missing. Melanie uses her investigative skills to unearth the facts surrounding his disappearance, much to the dismay of Jake Collins, the new detective in town who’s on the case. While Jake disapproves of her methods, he can’t deny Melanie’s contributions are helpful. Working together, they follow a path of twists and turns until they uncover the shocking truth.

My Rating:

four-stars

My Thoughts:

Rochelle Aytes and Keith Robinson star in a new Mystery movie. I have to say that I did kind of figure it out but also like the story.

REDEMPTION IN CHERRY SPRINGS CWMelanie Abrams, played by Rochelle Aytes, is actually a pretty good sleuth and I like how she got Detective Collins to let her help in the investigation. Since Cherry Springs is her old stomping grounds it was funny that she popped up everywhere Jake went. As a character I like Melanie. She is an interesting character and is working through her own feelings while helping out a friend. She is a great investigator.

Detective Jake Collins, played by Keith Robinson, is a pretty good detective as he wasn’t that far behind Mel with solving the case. I like his friendship with Melanie’s Uncle Joe, played by Frankie Faison, as it’s really sweet especially when Jake’s son is around as well. I like Jake as he is another different cop from all the other cop characters, we see in mystery movies and novels. He is a dad for one and definitely doesn’t seem like he was flirting with Melanie most of the time.

Their chemistry is there though and that is always great since there might be a small something brewing there. And I liked that they set it up for another movie if they decide to continue with these two. The sets were good as well.

If you haven’t seen it yet, give it a chance. I recommend it.

I truly hope Hallmark brings us a sequel to Redemption in Cherry Springs. There is so much material for another movie or a series.
