The explosive reveal about who John and Sarah really are and why they’re traveling through time, with their most gut-wrenching challenge yet. In the time of the Aztec, a scoundrel named Cortés arrives and the kids are forced to make an extremely difficult decision: If you could change history, should you?
For more twists, more danger, and more fun, read the third book in The Eye of Ra series, People of the Sun!
People of the Sun by Ben Gartner will blow your mind away on what is happening. Mr. Gartner has made me a lifelong reader of his, even if it’s only middle-grade books he writes. They are so good.
Will John and Sarah be tempted to change history?
John and Sarah
John and Sarah find out why they are the ones to keep history intact. It’s the best way to put it without giving anything away. Major spoiler if I do. Anyways these two have changed from Sol Invictus. John is the one that still likes to think ahead for a different solution than what they are given sometimes, and he still has a good head on his shoulders. Sarah is the one that likes to go on adventures, although she is hesitant about every time they go back in time. Well, until they get into the mission, Sarah is completely fine, and her adventurous self comes out to get things rolling.
I love these two siblings as the main characters. They show a different side to each mystery. It’s nice to see how they each deal with things differently.
The Mission
John and Sarah have to go to Mexico, central Mexico, back in the time of Cortes, to stop someone from trying to kill Cortes before he can hurt the Aztecs. Not only that but to make sure that they bring back the person to her actual time frame. John and Sarah have a lot to handle in Mexico about what they learn and who they meet. They have to decide if it would be that bad to let Cortes die and change history.
It’s a compelling story. I admit I did end up wanting to research some of what Mr. Gartner has said and learn more about the world’s history.
Five Stars
People of the Sun by Ben Gartner is another excellent story. I still find myself interested in what has happened in historical times, and to figure out a way to use it in fictional pieces, as Mr. Gartner has, is terrific. It’s fascinating that we are still learning about the past every day, especially when there is a new historical find. I was very interested in that underground city in the ebook.
I love every minute of reading these books and learning a bit about the time frame that I just read in Mr. Gartner’s books. My rating for People of the Sun by Ben Gartner is five stars, and I am giving it an enormous recommendation to read it. I love this series so much.
