My Rating:
My Thoughts:
I wanted to love this movie, but it was good. I love Kyla Pratt as I grew up watching her on Disney and Doctor Dolittle. She is a great actress who did as best as she could with what she was given in terms of the script. Which seemed a bit lackluster to me.
Kyla Pratt is Emma, who has been a workaholic since she got out of college. She gave up on singing and playing on the piano. However, Emma is a good character. She loves her family and wants to succeed in her career.
Edward Ruttle is Fletcher, who is Emma’s high school sweetheart. They left each other on not good terms. He went to London to start his career, where he got married and started a family. Now he is widowed and has a daughter who wants to be a director. Fletcher is an okay character. He seemed to not be truly sincere about where his career is now.
The thing that seemed off about the film was the chemistry between Fletcher and Emma; it’s more of friendship chemistry than romance. Fletcher’s chemistry with the actress that played his daughter is more realistic than it seems with Emma. So, I felt let down.
