She’s not exactly a lady…

Seventeen-year-old Emerald Dixon is the worst seamstress in London. Officially.

It’s not exactly her fault. No matter how hard she tries, she’s lacking the skills that she’s “supposed” to have. Sewing? Nope. Needlework? Absolutely not. Instead, her mind keeps drifting off into daydreams—ones filled with fantastical lands, high society balls, and dancing with dashing young men. And above all, trying to find the father she’s never known.

But when her skipping stone hits an attractive young earl, the gilded doors to society are suddenly opened to Emerald…if she has the courage to enter.

The Earl of Townsend, eighteen-year-old Will Granville, knows how it feels to be trapped in your own life. His life is a non-stop reminder that he will never fill his father’s shoes—or become the marquess he’s expected to become. But by helping Emerald go undercover into society, he has a chance to get to know the curly-haired beauty he can’t stop daydreaming about…and avoid the growing complications of his own life.

Of course, infiltrating the very crème de la crème of London society isn’t exactly easy, and Emerald and Will are already in over their heads. Because this glittering, opulent world has more secrets than either of them could ever know.

And a single stolen kiss could send the whole fragile façade crashing down around them…

Ximena Reale has spent most of her life training at La Academia to join the Cazadores, seafaring hunters who track down pirates. But her future is uncertain, thanks to her parents’ questionable reputation. They were traitorous pirates, and though they were executed when Ximena and her sister were young, they permanently damaged the Reale name in the eyes of the Luzan Empire.

Ability alone won’t make Ximena a Cazadoro—or earn her the coveted Cazadoro cloak. So, when the legendary pirate Gasparilla returns and captures the Empire’s queen, Ximena offers to bring back the queen and the notorious pirate in exchange for a cloak. But there’s a catch: Only one cloak is available, and Ximena’s competition is Dante, an infuriating yet handsome classmate with mysterious motives.

With their futures on the line, Ximena and Dante set out on a dangerous quest across the high seas. But no matter how far Ximena sails, her family’s legacy haunts her, and her exposure to a world outside of la academia leads her to question the very laws she’s always fought to uphold. Anastasia Pollack Crafting Mystery #14

Publication Date: February 4, 2025

Genre: Cozy Crafts and Hobbies Mystery

Goodreads | BookBub | Amazon

When staffing shortages continue to hamper the Union County homicide squad, Detective Sam Spader once again turns to his secret weapon, reluctant amateur sleuth Anastasia Pollack. How can she and husband Zack Barnes refuse when the victim is their new neighbor?

Revolutionary War reenactor Barry Sumner had the odd habit of spending hours mowing a small patch of packed dirt and weeds until his mower ran out of gas. He’d then guzzle beer on his front porch until he passed out. That’s where Anastasia’s son Nick discovers his body three days after the victim and his family moved into the newly built mini-McMansion across the street.

After a melee breaks out at the viewing, Spader zeroes in on the widow as his prime suspect. However, Anastasia has her doubts. There are other possible suspects, including a woman who’d had an affair with the victim, his ex-wife, the man overseeing the widow’s trust fund, a drug dealer, and the reenactors who were blackmailing the widow and victim.

When another reenactor is murdered, Spader suspects they’re dealing with a serial killer, but Anastasia wonders if the killer is attempting to misdirect the investigation. As she narrows down the suspects, will she jeopardize her own life to learn the truth?

Craft projects included.

She sees dead people. He is dead people. And their canine companion has a few secrets of her own. Together, they’re Lockwood Cove’s most dysfunctional detective trio!

When aspiring romance novelist Anna McGuffin relocates to Lockwood Cove, she’s hoping for a quiet retreat to jumpstart her writing—not a haunted mansion complete with a grumpy ghost and a mischievous stray dachshund.

Anna’s lifelong secret? She can see the dead—a fact she’s managed to keep hidden from the world. But she’s never encountered a ghost quite like Richard Lockwood—a 19th-century detective with the brooding good looks straight out of one of Anna’s novels. Unfortunately, he also has a chip on his shoulder and is hellbent on driving her out of his home.

Between Richard’s sharp-tongued sarcasm and stubborn refusal to ‘move on,’ he quickly becomes more than just a ghostly annoyance—especially when he starts rewriting Anna’s manuscripts and short-circuiting her electronics. Good thing Anna’s not easily spooked. It’ll take more than a moody, meddling spirit to send her packing.

But when Tracy Grace, a nosy ghosthunter seeking a sensational story about Anna, turns up dead, Anna becomes the prime suspect. Desperate to clear her name and keep her closely guarded secret safe, Anna strikes a deal with Richard: help her solve the murder, and she’ll leave his beloved mansion for good—a pact he gleefully accepts.
