Plot Summary:

Billie Blessings and her police detective friend Ian Jackson find their friendship blossoming into something more while in the middle of a murder investigation. When a former server at Blessings gets her big break starring as the title character in the new TV drama “Kelso’s Law,” she’s thrilled to be co-hosting “Wake Up West Coast” with Billie. But when a body turns up and Billie learns the dead man was blackmailing her friend, Billie is compelled to find the killer in order to prove her friend’s innocence.

Based on characters from the book: The Morning Show Murders by Al Roker and Dick Lochte.

My Thoughts:

This movie is pretty interesting. Sadly, we guessed who did it right off the bat, but it was still fun to watch the movie to see how Billie and Ian solved it. We didn’t get the whole dog connection, and I wished that they explored that a bit more since it would have been fun to learn about that more. Instead of learning about it right at the end. I mean they did leave hints, but it’s like did they expect us just to know what they are talking about?

Other than that, the movie was pretty great. The budding relationship between Billie and Ian is cute, and I love how Ian is with his daughter. I especially like the way Billie fits in so nicely.

Aunt Cassandra was weird in this movie, and I don’t know what to think about her at times. Cassandra and Maurice’s relationship is pretty funny throughout the film.
