Peanut Butter Swirl Brownies
This week I baked Katie Lightfoot’s Peanut Butter Swirl Brownies. The one that is in Bailey Cates’ Brownies and Broomsticks. This is the first book in the Magical Bakery Mystery Series. In this post, I will give you the recipe and what I thought about it. This was also my first time baking brownies from scratch. I guess I was more of a box mix type of person. However, I am getting into these scratch recipes.
When you purchase Brownies and Broomsticks, there are two recipes included. The first recipe is for these lovely Peanut Butter Swirl Brownies, and the other is for Cheddar-Sage Scones. I haven’t tried that one, but when I do, I will let you know.
The Baroness’ thoughts about baking Katie Lightfoot’s Peanut Butter Swirl Brownies
First, I gathered all of the ingredients together and got everything that I would need. Then my mom pops up with her camera to take pictures, of everything. She is really supportive, and she wants to make sure I don’t burn the house down. Anyway, back to what I was saying/writing/typing (whatever). The recipe is straight forward and easy to follow. The whole process didn’t even take that long. I do however wish that my mom had two bowls for her stand mixer. I have never done anything like the marbling or swirling of the peanut butter, so I was a little nervous. It was fun and turned out pretty.

The Baroness’ thoughts about the peanut butter swirl brownies
The brownies are to die for. They are delicious. I truly enjoyed the combination of peanut butter and chocolate. Oh, we didn’t have the regular cocoa powder, but we did have the dark chocolate cocoa. So, I used it, and I think it only made it better. They are very rich, gooey and super delicious.
I will be making these peanut butter swirl brownies again.
A special thanks to Bailey Cates for including this recipe in her book, Brownies and Broomsticks. Please feel free to check out my review of the first Magical Bakery Mystery.
Hope you enjoyed this #bookishrecipe.
