Jen's 2025 Reading Challenges

Jen’s 2025 Reading Challenges

Hi Everyone!

Reading is my favorite hobby, but as most of you understand, life can sometimes get in the way of even our favorite hobbies. Therefore, I am only joining the reading challenges I think I can manage with my other responsibilities. Because of that, Karen and I created some reading challenges specific to genres and things we could complete. Starting a challenge you won’t be able to finish means you don’t want to start it.

If you want to join one of the challenges below, click the link after “Hosted by. ” This will take you to the challenge page, where you can find all the rules and sign up. You can also create your own challenges or join any that Karen has created for the year.

Due to the number of reading challenges, my progress will be tracked in separate posts, which you can find at the top of the page under “Reading Challenges.”

2025 Craving the Cozies Reading Challenge

2025 Craving the Cozies

Hosted by: Escape with Dollycas

My goal this year is to enter the Peckish level with 20 books.

Cozy mysteries, or “cozies,” are a sub-genre of crime fiction mysteries in which sex and violence are downplayed or treated humorously, and the crime and detection occur in a small, socially intimate community. The crime-solver is an amateur sleuth, usually but not always a woman, who is thrust into the aftermath of the murder. The protagonist frequently has an occupation or hobby that brings appealing information to the reader.

The challenge runs from January 1st and ends on December 31st.

This year’s cozy mystery reading challenge has two ways to participate. You choose whichever suits you the best: Read cozy mysteries of your choice or read one book from the sub-genres listed on the sign-up post. I am choosing to read those of my choice.

Do you think I will complete these 2025 Reading Challenges? I honestly don’t know, but I will give it a shot.

Even though these are challenges, remember that they should be fun. I believe the purpose of these RCs is to encourage us to read more and connect with others. So, start reading and join a challenge.

As these posts can get long, Karen has decided to track our progress together for each challenge. The tracking system is linked from the Reading Challenges menu on the above menu.

Until next time,
