She can help heal his injuries…
But what about his heart?

Millie Gibson has been waiting for her brother’s best friend to finish his military service, but when Randon Farr has at last been discharged from the army, he returns with injuries that go beyond his wounded shoulder. As a nurse, Millie isn’t afraid of the scars he now carries. There’s nothing she won’t do for her stubborn, brave soldier. But with Randon determined to sell the family cabin and leave Arizona for good, Millie will have to choose between the man she’s been waiting for and the life she’s built here in Coronado.

Her Hometown Soldier’s Return by LeAnne Bristow is a sweet romance about two people finally getting together.

Will Millie finally get Randon to see that living in their small hometown isn’t as bad as he thinks it would be?

Millie Gibson

Millie Gibson is the youngest and only girl out of the Gibson kids. She also has been in love with her brother’s best friend for as long as she can remember. It’s just that Millie doesn’t think that Randon wants to be with her and live in their small hometown. Millie is a nurse with a big heart, and she shows it by helping everyone who needs it. The two people that she helps the most are her father and Randon.

I like Millie and how stubborn she can be, since that helps her a lot to deal with Randon’s stubbornness.

Randon Farr

Randon Farr is the only son of Gregory Farr and his wife, who hadn’t been in the picture for a long time. He has no love lost for losing the only parent that he remembers besides his grandfather. Randon has it in his head that he needs to get his family’s cabin fixed and on the market so he can go back overseas with a different company, not the military. The longer he stays in Coronado, though, the more he feels like he could make it a home, even if he doesn’t think that he deserves one.

I like Randon and how he tries to overcome Coronado’s expectations that he become like his dad. Randon is a better person, and it shows.

The Romance

Millie and Randon’s romance is sweet, and I love how these two stubborn people notice their feelings for each other. They definitely bump heads about some things that they don’t want to do. I liked a lot of things about them and how they didn’t want to start something, but it just happened.

Five Stars

My rating for Her Hometown Soldier’s Return by LeAnne Bristow is five stars. I do recommend this book to anyone interested in a cute, sweet romance. Ms. Bristow transported me to a small mountain town in Arizona, and I watched these two feelings for each other blossom even more.

About LeAnne Bristow

LeAnne Bristow

LeAnne Bristow began her love affair with books at an early age. She often hid books inside her desk and read during class. A teacher actually commented on a report card that “She would do much better in class if she would stop reading.” When she outgrew Laura Ingalls Wilder and Beverly Cleary, she graduated to Walter Farley and Judy Blume. Then her favorite aunt gave her an old box of Harlequin romance novels and she was hooked. After reading the entire Americana series by Janet Dailey, LeAnne dreamed of becoming a writer.

But as often happens with dreams, life gets in the way. She fell in love with an Arizona native who packed her up, stories and all, and moved her from her small town in central Texas to a smaller town in southern Arizona.

LeAnne spent the next 20 years corralling three of her own children and a classroom full of kindergartners. Then one fateful day, her husband found her box of stories. She couldn’t bear to throw the box away,so she began the long, arduous task of rewriting and editing.

When she’s not arguing with the characters in her head, she enjoys hunting, camping and fishing with her family. Her day job is teaching kindergarten, but now that her three kids are grown, she’s determined to teach her granddaughter how to catch lizards and love the desert as much as she does.
