Plot Summary:

The latest edition of Alex McPherson’s (Alison Sweeney) true crime podcast centers on the death of a man whose wife seems certain to be convicted for his murder. Fairly certain that the woman did not kill her husband, it’s up to Alex to figure out who the real killer is as the trial heads toward its conclusion.

My Rating:

My Thoughts:

Every time I watch one of the Chronicle Mysteries, I fall in love with the characters even more. Each of the characters has grown since the first movie. Not only that but the mysteries in each movie are so good to figure out. Just like with the last few I didn’t figure it out until maybe halfway through then I had a feeling but no proof.

Here are my three favorite scenes of this movie.

The first favorite scene is Alex’s podcast to help Katie save her client from going to jail. On the way, of course, Alex gets invested and wants to help out in more than just doing her podcast. The mystery is pretty intriguing.

My second favorite scene involves Alex’s murder board. The one that she had at the newspaper building and the one in her home. That one they are seen interacting with more than the one at the newspaper building. I love the murder boards since they not only help the sleuth and her partners but also in my mind the audience to figure it out who committed the crime.

The last favorite scene is Kendall working at the newspaper as an intern and having rules with her father. I love the interaction between Kendall and her dad, Drew. Kendall is only eighteen and is helping out her dad and Alex with whatever is needed. Kendall is an awesome young woman.

The acting was superb. Alison Sweeney, Benjamin Ayres, Olivia Steele Falconer, and Rebecca Staab make such a fabulous base for these true-crime mysteries.

There were a lot of red herrings in this film but is one of the red herrings the actual killer? I guess you will have to tune in to find out.
