My Thoughts:
Christmas Tree Lane brings together two completely different people to try and save their street. Well, one wants to save it, and the other doesn’t until he sees everything that it has to offer.
Alicia Witt plays Meg Reilly who’s family had owned their spot in Christmas Tree Lane for generations and wants to continue that streak even though it’s being threatened to close. Meg wants to keep her families’ shop and the other shops on Christmas Tree Lane from being evicted, and watching it turn into something that would make it more profitable. Instead, they decided to try to save it. I love Meg as a character and think that we would be good friends even if I’m not a singer at all. She is a great character, and Alicia Witt does an amazing job bringing her character to life.
Andrew Walker plays Nate Williams, the son of the person wanting to change Christmas Tree Lane. Nate is a character that I was rooting for from the beginning. He was such a friendly character who was bringing out a different side of Meg from the moment they first met. Nate has an amazingly sweet side that brings out a side of Meg that loves Christmas. These two characters have great chemistry, including the actors.y
The sets for Christmas Tree Lane were incredible, and I loved them all very much. The one thing that I have to ding Hallmark for is that Meg is wearing this off the shoulder dress, and it’s supposed to be Christmas Eve in Denver; she would be freezing and not walking around like that. Well, the same thing with the way the little girl was dressed. At least put her in stockings that look knitted so that she would be warm, and for Meg, maybe a shawl or even a wrap would work.
