Katie, a former professional ice skater (Patterson), is hired by the king of San Senova, Alexander, to help his daughter in a Christmas ice skating performance.

As Katie spends time in the castle and with the king, she and Alex begin to develop feelings for each other and ultimately fall in love. But will the tradition-loving people of San Senova allow their king to make a foreigner their queen?

My Thoughts:

I was a little disappointed in this movie. It didn’t meet my expectations you could say.

The acting was alright. I didn’t feel the chemistry between the two leading characters. I thought there was a better connection between the Nicholas and Jessica characters. Princess Christina was super cute. I enjoyed her interactions with everyone. However, I think my favorite was character was Princess Patricia. She was funny, and I didn’t know what to expect from her.

The story was sweet, but I felt disconnected somehow. The sets were beautiful, and the location was gorgeous.

Things that I liked:

When King Alexander knocked down the entire Christmas set on stage.
The Grinch King (title)
Princess Patricia with the headset on and directing everyone.
Nicolas and Jessica’s growing relationship
The ice show at the beginning
Katie, Alex and Christina making cookies together

There were three kisses between Nicholas and Jessica and one between Katie and Alex.
