Karen, the Baroness
Hi, there, fellow book lovers!
I’m Karen, the Baroness behind Baroness’ Book Trove. If you haven’t noticed, I love to read! I, along with my mom and stepdad, live in the beautiful state of Texas. We moved to East Texas from Northwestern Montana. I have a shorkies (part Yorkshire terrier and part Shih Tzu). We rescued Bella and Carli when we lived in Montana. Carli passed away in 2024, but I still have Bella.
I have been reading books for as long as I can remember. Books have always been my place to escape real life. To be honest, who doesn’t do that when they are reading? I have a ton of genres that I like to read. To read those genres that I prefer, check out my Review Policy.
I have a lot of favorite authors, but the more I read, the more favorite authors I find. Some new and exciting authors have found me. I love working with indie authors as they are more open and giving with their time and gratitude.
What I like to do
Besides reading, I love taking pictures with my camera, hanging out with my parents, watching television, writing, listening to music, and enjoying nature. Hanging out with my parents is like an everyday thing to do. We either read or watch television together in the evenings.
I have always been interested in photography and try to go out and take some great pictures. I enjoy watching television shows since I have many favorite shows, and it’s always fun to watch with my parents. Their comments during the episodes can be pretty funny.
I like to write because otherwise I wouldn’t be spending my time writing book reviews.
Listening to music is something that I love to do, especially when I’m doing things around our house.
I also love enjoying nature, whether just sitting on our patio, hiking at one of the parks, or heading out to one of the local lakes. It’s relaxing to watch the wildlife do their things.
I have found that I can travel the world and beyond through the pages of a book. Once you open that book, you never know exactly where you will end up or whose story you will be sharing.

Baroness Mom
Hi, Everyone.
I am Karen’s mom. I started just doing the back-end stuff when Karen switched from Blogger. You know, editing some of her reviews and making graphics. She has slowly drawn me in more.
My grandmother instilled a love of reading in my mom, who passed it to me and me to my girls. My mom could read a Harlequin romance in two hours. She and my Gram used to pass around paper bags full of different books to their friends. Then they would chat about the best ones and the authors they liked most. I attended many of these book swaps and read a wide range of genres. I guess you would call them their unorganized book club.
This blog is terrific, it allows Karen and me to read books from authors we might not have known about otherwise. Authors are all so different, and isn’t that what makes their books so unique? They see another side of a story than we might have.
Reading is among my top five things to do. I also like cooking, learning new things, photography, and watching movies and television. Another item on that list is spending a day fishing with my husband. I love when family visits, and we play tourist around our area.
Karen, my husband, and I live in East Texas. We share our home with my Umbrella cockatoo, Gabby. Gabby has lived with us since she was 6 months old and is now 26. Her vocabulary continues to grow, and so does her attitude. She tries to keep me in line. Since moving to Texas, we adopted a senior black lab named Boo. Our house can be extremely loud at times.
