My Rating:
My Thoughts:
Bethany Joy Lenz is Natalie in this movie, and I thought that she did a great job. Natalie seems like an awesome person, but she lost herself by trying to make sure that the television producers are happy. She is very into trying to be what everyone wants her to be. Natalie is like that in her relationship with Brooks as well. Coming home has helped her in many ways. Natalie found herself and doesn’t want to settle anymore.
Luke MacFarlane is Zach in this movie, and I thought he also did a fantastic job. Zach, instead of going to art school and pursuing his art, stayed home. He got a job at a hardware store that he now owns, is still doing his art, and searching for lost treasures in other people’s “junk.”
My favorite part was Natalie walking with her dad discussing what was bothering her. It brought tears to my eyes. So, excellent writing there.
Sadly, I had a hard time seeing the chemistry between Bethany and Luke, and that makes this so hard since I wanted to see it. I just never did. The secondary couple Eric and Jes, were more in sync, though.
However, I was able to enjoy the movie as I loved the story, setting, and the sets themselves were fabulous.
