"If you're a fan of holiday mysteries or long to visit Charleston when it's decorated for Christmas, you’ll fall in love with Stacy Wilder's latest!" - JULIE MULHERN, USA TODAY bestselling author of The Country Club Murders
Who’s stealing the holiday decorations? They’re disappearing like Christmas cookies from PeggyLou Designs, and Lou’s newly launched event planning service is in trouble. He implores his neighbor and friend, Private Investigator Liz Adams, to bring the thief to justice.
The clock is ticking. It’s only ten days until the mayor’s big holiday celebration. The party that will make or break Lou’s business.
Liz’s mom, Babs, steps in to help, and the investigation becomes complicated. Suddenly the holidays are not all mistletoe and merriment when Bab’s life is threatened. Will Liz and her lie-detecting Labrador retriever, Duke, discover the perpetrator before it’s too late?
Experience Charleston in the city’s full Christmas glory in this fun fast-paced holiday story.
A Christmas Conundrum by Stacy Wilder is a short mystery with holiday flair.
Will Liz and Babs find the thief before the mayor’s party is a bust?
The holidays are upon Charleston, and with some last-minute changes, Liz’s parents are coming to Charleston instead of Liz and Brad going to Florida. Liz is in full detective mode, and her mom is helping Lou get caught up on things at PeggyLou Designs.
Liz and Babs
You can see where Liz gets her tenacity from: her mother, Babs. Babs will not let these threats stop her from helping their friend right his business. Following these two together really shows their similarities and differences. They are both take-charge types, and they have other similar strengths. Liz and Babs make a formidable team.
I enjoyed getting to know Liz’s parents, Babs and Grant. They are all excellent and seem to live life to their fullest.
Things I found fun:
- Barbie’s Christmas Decorations
- The Christmas Light Walk
- Liz’s gadgets
- The holiday events that the group attended
- All the wonderful food
- Last but not least, Duke.
Five Stars
My rating for A Christmas Conundrum by Stacy Wilder is five stars. It is short enough to read in one sitting but feels complete, and the mystery flows well. I truly enjoyed the story.
There are two recipes: Bab’s Famous Sour Cream Coffee Cake and Peg’s Percolator Spiced Tea. The author also includes a playlist of classic Christmas songs worth checking out. I know they made the tunes pop into my head.
