Her baby surprise proves…
…that one night will never be enough!
Reeling from the secrets that have torn his heritage apart, Enzo Bartolini is set on selling his family’s Tuscan vineyard and trying to forget the impulsive, dazzling night he and best friend Sylvie shared in Paris. While the sale moves forward, the thrilling awareness between him and Sylvie is harder to move past…especially when she upends Enzo’s world by revealing she’s carrying his baby!
The Italian’s Unexpected Heir by Jennifer Faye is a fabulous wrap up to a sweet trilogy.
Will Enzo really sell the Bartolini property?
Enzo Bartolini
Our hero is the oldest Bartolini child and only son, Enzo. Now that his sisters have left and he is alone, Enzo decides to sell the family property and leave all the lies and disappointments behind. But is this the right decision for Enzo, as all he has ever wanted was to run the vineyard and winery like his father?
Enzo is a deeply caring man with guilt for not taking better care of his sisters. The thing about Enzo is he doesn’t express his feelings or discuss things with others well. I like that he is caring, but he seriously needs to work on communication. He also needs to let go of this self-guilt. Oh, and seriously listen to his elders, at least think about what they are saying without dismissing it.
Another thing about Enzo is he is a hard worker. He is right in there working the vines, in the winery, fighting fires, whatever it takes to get the job done. Enzo is a good guy.
Sylvie
Our heroine is Sylvie DeLuca. She hasn’t had the most comfortable life, but it also wasn’t the worst, as Enzo helps to remind her. However, Sylvie is a fighter, and she will not allow herself to be homeless again. She will stand on her own and support herself. Sylvie, like Enzo, has been in the previous stories. We get to know her dreams and aspirations, along with her nightmares and tragedies. Sylvie is smart, beautiful, and talented.
I like that Sylvie is independent, hard-working, and always willing to go that extra mile. She doesn’t have complete confidence in her designing abilities, but that will come with time. Sylvie brings out the best side of Enzo, and they make an adorable couple.
Five Stars
I love happy endings. Ms. Faye does such a fabulous job wrapping up this family’s tragedy and answering all the questions that I find myself asking at the end of some books. My rating is five stars, and if you are looking for a sweet romance to spend an evening with, this is a great one. I highly recommend it.
