Under the Autumn Moon a Hallmark Fall Harvest Movie 2018

With my love of autumn, romance and happy endings I will be watching all of the Hallmark Channel’s Fall Harvest Movies this year, then sharing my thoughts with all of you.

My disclaimer: I like the fun, romantic movies that play on Hallmark. Therefore my reviews will probably have a very positive look at each of the films.

When an ambitious executive convinces her boss that a picturesque ranch would be perfect for their company retreats, he agrees to let her check it out. However, her plan hits a snag when the owner, a charming cowboy, refuses to sell unless she can promise to preserve its history. He convinces her to stay and experience the magic of the ranch, but when her boss shows up with other plans in mind, will she have to make a choice between love or ambition?

My thoughts:

I like the movie. Lindy Booth and Wes Brown were very believable. Maybe you remember Lindy Booth from the Librarians? Yes, I loved watching the Librarians. She has another movie coming out soon called The Creatress. Wes Brown is not new to Hallmark movies; in fact, we will see him this Christmas Season in Christmas at Graceland.

Supporting Characters

The supporting characters were great. Taylor, Josh’s sister and her dreams of seeing the world. Just remember to pay attention when you are baking. The couple (Jill and Michael) that used to work together and find that they have a lot in common now that she is divorced. Timing is the real key for them. Alex’s boss Roger, he had me questioning his morals, thank goodness I was wrong. There were two bad guys, but neither really panned out to be that bad.

The “Two Bar Tree” was funny, and right on. When traveling in North Dakota, you never know when you will get cellular service.

Setting

The setting was fabulous. The ranch was beautiful and the log cabins…so perfect. I wanted to see if there were really any dude ranches in North Dakota as it really isn’t the first state that I would think of for cowboys but I was wrong. I found some great information about ranching experiences in North Dakota. ND

There were a few things that didn’t really make sense to me.

Why would you buy a ranch for company retreats when you only have retreats once a year?
Why would you buy a distribution center that you know you will outgrow in two years time? Especially in a state that is across the country from your headquarters?
Why would you buy a ranch in North Dakota to build a distribution center big enough to last? Seriously, the town had one store. How many people do you think live in the area?

One other question, who cleans the cabins and helps in the kitchen? Taylor can’t do everything. Now we know why she wants to get out of there.

Even with those questions, I loved the movie. It was romantic and cute. And the happy ending is excellent.
