How did you and your author meet?

I met KC in a midlife mediums support group online. Who knew there were so many psychic mediums out there who (like me) have been trying to ignore their gifts and ignore the spirits but somehow in midlife our spirit guides demanded we wake up.

Why did this writer decide to feature you in a book?

KC and I can relate on many levels especially being busy moms battling the unseen evils of ghosts and hot flashes, meno-belly, thinning hair, brain fog,…

Do you have any friends or family helping you out?

I spent the last 40+ years of my life hiding my psychic abilities, even from my own husband. It’s taking a bit for everyone to adjust to our new normal. My oldest daughter, Alex, who is studying to be a doctor, is supportive because she’s “gifted” as well and doesn’t want to be either. We support each other. Now that the local paranormal investigation team lead believes, I’m a legit medium, she’s becoming my biggest fan.

Do you have a regular job and investigate on the side or are you a full time detective?

I left my “regular” job in corporate America years ago to become a stay-at-home mom so I guess you could say my regular job is cooking, cleaning dirt-stained baseball pants, drive my children everywhere, etc. while working on an ad hoc basis with the local paranormal investigation team.

What is the funniest thing that happens to you or another character in this story?

Oh, there’s plenty of the non-living smack-talking me throughout the story. My favorite is being snidely reminded by a phantom in a room full of Halloween party-goers that I am just as invisible as the ghosts, except I’m still very much alive. All sorts of crazy things happen to me and my friends. For instance, I find Krissy (who is hosting the Halloween party) stuck to the wall of the playroom where the zombie baby coming out of her belly (what was she thinking with that costume) waves a plastic knife around like it’s from a horror flick.

Have you solved other cases, or is this your first one?

This is my first case (of many, I hope).

Do you have a gift or special talent?

Aside from seeing, hearing, and speaking with the non-living… I can get the stubbornest red clay stains out of white baseball pants.

Who is the most important individual in your life?

Aside from my three babies (Alexandra, Easton, and Davis) and my hubby (Tanner), it’s my fur baby, tiny toy chihuahua (ChiChi).

What is your ideal vacation?

I’d love to spend a month or more touring Ireland and Scotland, but there’s so many ghosts there, I may forego that dream for a tropical island vacation—you know, the ones where you stay in a luxurious cabin/hut on top of the crystal clear ocean water with all the amenities. My luck, it’d be hurricane season.

If you could change anything about your life what would it be?

I would love the magic secret to getting rid of this meno-belly I can’t seem to lose no matter how much I exercise and how little I eat.

About the Author

After leaving the corporate world to raise her five rambunctious children with her husband in North Carolina, KC Freeman eventually found her way back to her lifelong desire to write paranormal fiction.

First, she dipped her toes in the writing world by ghostwriting cozy mysteries and romance novels. Once confident of her creative writing skills, she struck out on her own to write urban fantasy and paranormal romance with her debut novel, Rekindled Prophecy: Greylyn the Guardian Angel Book 1. A few books later, KC added the label, “USA Today Best-Selling Author” with her paranormal romance, Renegade Angel, incorporated into the Realm of Darkness box set.

KC writes mostly urban fantasy and paranormal romance novels. She also spends a lot of time editing manuscripts with her company, Book Mage Editing, and is certified by the Professional Book Editors Association.

Now that her five children are grown and flown, KC spends her time writing, editing, reading, hiking, exercising (in an attempt to get back a semblance of her pre-menopause body), and spoiling her fur baby chihuahua, Harley.
