Plot Summary:

Professional photographer Allie Adams becomes embroiled in the mystery surrounding the theft of a valuable necklace. When her unorthodox investigation uncovers a murder that is tied to the robbery, Allie shares her findings with P.D. Detective Sam Acosta, and the two work together to identify and bring the killer to justice, despite Sam’s reluctance to allow Allie’s involvement in his case.

My Thoughts:

Picture Perfect Mysteries: Dead Over Diamonds is the second new mystery that has wife and husband duo Alexa and Carlos PenaVega. It is better than the first one. I did figure out somethings about who did it in this one a bit early, and I was surprised that I got it right.

Alexa and Carlos

Alexa PenaVega returns as Allie Adams and is a photographer that is at another event that has crime evolved at one point. Somehow Allie, as a photographer, is at the scene of another crime. Allie is an excellent character, and I like how she sees things in the photographs and singles out specific items in frames of life around her. Alexa puts a nice spin on the character Allie.

Carlos PenaVega returns as Detective Sam Acosta. We find out a bit more about what has happened in New York that made him come to this small town. Sam is a bit more offish with Alexa, but it makes sense why later. Carlos does a great job of showing us his character’s reasoning and feelings.

Carlos and Alexa have fabulous chemistry, and they play off of each other well.

Uncle Luis

Eric Estrada plays Sam’s, Uncle Luis. His character gives a much needed comic relief to the series. I loved it when Uncle Luis shares how he dealt with the loss of his wife. Eric Estrada does a fantastic job.

The Mystery

Who stole the diamond necklace in a couple of minutes of a blackout at the art show. Then one of the suspects turns up dead. It comes down to if Sam can figure it out on his own, or will he need Allie’s help.

I think that this movie is better than the first one. The 60ish style beginning is growing on me. Even though the Picture Perfect Mysteries aren’t perfect, I do enjoy them.
