Genre:  Sweet Romance

Goodreads | BookBub | Amazon

He thought he had the perfect plan…

When elite university professor Keaton Andrews walks into a meeting with the dean, he expects to hear that his tenure application is on track. Instead, his beloved department is cut. Regrouping in Silver Falls with family seems like his best option. One morning, he takes a risk and orders a pumpkin spice latte from the beautiful barista at the local coffee shop. Too bad she doesn’t seem to find him nearly as intriguing as he finds her…

Raine Hanover is no longer swayed by a charming smile, especially by a nerdy—and distractingly handsome—academic. She’s taking a break from romance and focusing on running her increasingly busy coffee shop. But when Raine is involuntarily put in charge of organizing the town’s Halloween bash, Keaton jumps in to help, and it’s not long before sparks, and kisses, fly.

As the leaves begin to fall, Raine wonders if she should risk taking another chance on happily ever after, especially with a man who has dreams and goals so far away from Silver Falls and her.

For starters, their two dogs have decided to wreak havoc during the party and tempers flare. It turns out not everyone is pleased with the dog trainer and his mother, the condo association president. Whispers of the mother and son’s misbehavior, or worse, fly amongst the barks, whines, and growls of the canines.

When Emory finds the body of Mrs. Parker amidst an explosive situation, it becomes apparent there is more truth to the whispers instead of just gossip. Could one of the canine-loving participants be responsible? Or an outsider who hated her heavy-handed rule over the condo homeowners? Grace Powers Mystery #3

Publication Date: September 13, 2022

Genre:  Private Investigator Mystery

Amazon | Book Review

Book #3 in the Grace Powers Mystery series by USA Today Bestselling Author, Wendy Byrne

Fan-girling isn’t something Grace Powers would typically do, but she can’t help herself when her hero Theo Carter comes to her PI office looking for help. He’d been an inspiration to every kid growing up in poverty in Chicago. Not only had he survived, but he’d flourished by getting a full-ride scholarship to Harvard undergrad and law school. He even had a brief stint as a movie star. Seeing his meteoric ride to success made her and thousands of other kids believe they could attain the same lofty goals.

Right now Theo was engaged in a tight political race for US Senator. With momentum building and about nine months from the election, Theo had a big problem. His wife was missing and he had no idea where she’d gone. He hoped Grace could find her before the press found out.

As luck would have it, less than twenty-four hours after their initial meeting, police discovered Theo’s wife’s abandoned car at the Chicago lakefront. Blood in the car along with an empty bottle of Oxycotin didn’t bode well for a positive outcome. Grace had to hit the ground running if she wanted to get ahead of the vultures.

Run-of-the-mill missing person cases were never easy. But this predicament had crash and burn written all over it. Providing top-notch detective services to a well-known highly visible public individual could prove to be challenging if not impossible. And somehow she’d be responsible for trying to figure out how to thread that needle!

It didn’t take long for all hell to break loose. Grace tried to do her job while juggling the press, Chicago PD, possible suspects, and a host of folks who thought they should contribute to the chaos. Which, of course, made everything worse.

With her back up against the wall and a client that wasn’t big on sharing information, she couldn’t be sure she’d ever be able to put together all the pieces of this puzzle. She might have to face the real possibility this could be her last case.

Callie Cassidy Mysteries #4

Publication Date: September 13, 2022

Genre:  Cozy Mystery

Goodreads | BookBub | Amazon

When a visit to a Colorado dude ranch turns deadly, it’s up to photographer Callie Cassidy to corral the killer…

As maid of honor (aka grande dame) in her best friend’s upcoming wedding, Callie wants to plan the perfect bridal shower. And what could be better than a girls’ trip with their posse of friends?

The women jump at the idea and suggest a destination—Moonglow Ranch, a serenity retreat-slash-dude ranch owned by one friend’s aunt and uncle.

When they arrive, Callie is less than enthusiastic. Serenity doesn’t come easily to a former investigative photojournalist. Plus, her horse is stubborn as…well, a mule. She’s warned to be on the lookout for snakes. Worst of all—gasp!—Moonglow only serves healthy food. Still, her friends are having a great time, and even Callie’s golden retriever Woody and tabby cat Carl seem right at home on the ranch. For their sake, she tries to tap into her inner Zen.

Then the conniving wife of the town’s most powerful man interrupts the party and threatens the ranch’s proprietors. Callie worries the trip is destined for disaster.

Later, Callie finds the woman’s body in the stable, apparently trampled by a horse. Or did she die from a snakebite? Or—as Callie suspects—could something even more sinister be at work?

Answers are as difficult to find as a needle in the haystack. And when the police chief accuses the ranch owners of murder, Callie realizes she’ll need to lasso the real outlaw—before the wrong people end up in the pokey.

A suspenseful and atmospheric horror set in 1980s Oregon, perfect for fans of Stranger Things, Neil Gaiman, and Margaret Peterson Haddix, from New York Times bestselling author and the Decemberists’ lead singer/songwriter Colin Meloy.

He keeps telling himself that this is Seaham, a sleepy seaside town where nothing ever happens. Or at least nothing did, until his dad’s construction company opened up the cliff beneath the old—some say cursed—Langdon place.

Soon, though, he and his friends can’t deny it: more and more of the adults in town are acting strangely. An ancient, long-buried evil has been unleashed upon the community, and it’s up to the kids to stop it before it’s too late. . . .
