Plot Summary:
Jennifer Shannon is a garage-sale shopping expert whose sharp observational skills allow her to uncover valuable antiques and help her local police department investigate crimes and solve mysteries. When an impoverished man enters Rags to Riches – a consignment shop where Jennifer sells the gems she’s found at garage sales – and asks to have an item home-delivered, Jennifer agrees. Upon her arrival at his run-down apartment, Jennifer finds the man murdered. As the police survey the crime scene, Jennifer cannot help but think there is something familiar about the details of the killing – and soon realizes that the victim’s cold-blooded demise is a re-enactment of a murder in a classic mystery novel.

My Thoughts:
Jennifer doesn’t mean to stumble upon dead bodies, but she just can’t help but end up solving the mystery. In this movie, she becomes a consultant for the police because of her knowledge of mysteries. The murders also resemble those in different books, and Detective Lynnwood asks Jen for her help.
I have to say that this movie was a good one. It had me guessing who could have done it, but I was thinking I knew who did it from about the middle of the movie. Even if I wasn’t sure about why. Actually, I still have no clue why the person who did it really did it. The main reason is that I thought the reasoning was a bit sketchy once it was revealed, but what do I know.
The family moments are what saved this movie for me since I thought the mystery was cool until it was revealed who did it. But Jen’s family really pulled it together, as that is something I like seeing in these movies. Jason and Logan had some son-and-father bonding moments without Logan being on or holding an electronic device. That left Jennifer and Hannah with some girl-bonding time.
This story was good even if I thought the mystery was a bit odd at the end. Despite that, I loved every moment of this movie, and I can’t wait to see what happens next. The two things I like most are the Shannon family moments and the dinner parties Jen throws. The guests are always amazing.
