A spiraling case of betrayal, corruption, and murder could destroy Eve Ronin if she exposes it in a gripping thriller by #1 New York Times bestselling author Lee Goldberg.

A fifty-five-gallon drum washes up in the Malibu Lagoon stuffed with the corpse of Gene Dent, the key player in a bribery scandal that ensnared several local politicians. LASD detectives Eve Ronin and Duncan Pavone know the case—and all the likely suspects—well. Just as they begin their investigation, the sheriff publicly reveals evidence linking the crime to LA’s mayor.

But Eve and Duncan realize the bombshell allegation, true or not, arises from corruption within the sheriff’s own office…because they helped cover it up years ago. If the sheriff goes down, so will they.

Eve is agonizing over her moral dilemma when a helicopter crashes in the hillside below her Calabasas home. It’s not a coincidence. Eve soon discovers among the twisted wreckage and dead passengers shocking connections to her own past…and they lead straight to a fight for her life.

Fallen Star by Lee Goldberg is magnificent! I love it.

Will Eve and Duncan figure out what is going on without losing their badges?

Eve Ronin

Eve’s life is spiraling. She is having an issue with the television series that is running about her. People keep coming up to her asking about the crazy things that the character does. Different real-life people are giving her mixed directions on how to handle the fame and her brand. Eve doesn’t care about the brand, or does she? She really needs to figure that out. All that aside, she is having a hard time with the ethics the sheriff is using to win the mayoral race. I love this character; she is the most imperfect heroine. Eve is tenacious; she isn’t going to back down once she is involved. I also love the way she asks all kinds of questions, even ones that other people don’t want the answers to.

Fallen Star CROur Mystery

It is a revolving mess of dead bodies, connections to old cases, ongoing cases, and the involvement of the FBI and FFA, then throw in some crazy neighbors, family dynamics, and a new captain. Yes, you read that right, another one is down. Pretty soon, no one is going to want to be the captain at Lost Hills. Well, at least if Eve Ronin is still there. But amidst the crash, the body in the drum, and all the strange connections between so many different people, Eve and Duncan, with some help from Sharpe, Walker, Nan, and the coroner, figure out exactly what is going on and who caused the crash. This one really cleans up a lot.

Five Stars

My rating for Fallen Star by Lee Goldberg is five stars. I so enjoy this series and look forward to each installment. Reading about Eve’s life makes mine seem much easier to manage. If you haven’t started this series, I would do it before the books come to the television screen. At least that is what I hear is going to happen. Madison Lintz will be portraying Eve Ronin. Lee Goldberg

New York Times Bestselling author Lee Goldberg is a two-time Edgar Award and two-time Shamus Award nominee.

Goldberg broke into television with a freelance script sale to Spenser: For Hire. Since then, his TV writing & producing credits have covered a wide variety of genres, including sci-fi (seaQuest), cop shows (Hunter, The Glades), martial arts (Martial Law), whodunits (Diagnosis Murder, Nero Wolfe), the occult (She-Wolf of London), kid’s shows (R.L. Stine’s The Nightmare Room), T&A (Baywatch, She Spies), comedy (Monk) clip shows (The Best TV Shows That Never Were) and total crap (The Highwayman, The New Adventures of Flipper).

He’s written and produced TV shows in Canada (Murphy’s Law, Cobra, Missing), England (Stick With Me Kid, She Wolf of London) and Germany (Fast Track: No Limits). His mystery writing for television has earned him two Edgar Award nominations from the Mystery Writers of America.

His two careers, novelist and TV writer, merged when he wrote the eight books in the Diagnosis Murder series of original novels, based on the hit CBS TV mystery that he also wrote and produced. He followed that up by writing fifteen bestselling novels based on Monk, another TV show that he worked on. His Monk novels have been translated and published in Germany, Poland, Thailand, Japan, Turkey, and many other countries.

In addition to his writing, he’s worked as an international TV development expert and consulting producer for production companies and major networks in Canada, France, Germany, Spain, Sweden, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

But perhaps he’s best known for his pioneering work mapping the human genome and negotiating the North American Free Trade Agreement.

Goldberg lives in Los Angeles with his wife and his daughter and still sleeps in Man From U.N.C.L.E. pajamas.
