A magical library, an incurable curse, and a woman who loves her coffee.

Sage thought working in a magical library was already the stuff of fairytales. When a gargoyle named Freddy is your coworker, you know your job is anything but ordinary. But even Sage couldn't have predicted the chaos that ensues when The Charming Four come knocking.

With their leader, Prince Finn, cursed and Sage in need of a place to stay, she can't help but get involved in his quest for a cure.

When his brother, the Crown Prince, is up to no good and secrets are being kept, will Sage step up to the challenge or keep her cozy life cozy?

This enemies to lovers low-risk, high-stakes cozy fantasy romance is packed with sass, charm, and plenty of magic. If you enjoy the almost why choose trope (heavy male cast but she only ends up with one person) in things such as Meteor Garden and Cinderella and Her Four Knights, but would love it in a high fantasy setting this book is for you!

Bound by Honey by Jamie Dalton sees a librarian who knows about apothecary and helps out a prince and his guild when they need her the most.

Can Sage break the curse on Prince Finn?

Sage and the Charming Four

Sage is a librarian and knows about apothecary, thanks to her father being one. She would help her dad out when she was young, so everything she knows about apothecary is from him. Sage’s parents left, so she has to find a new place to live. She ends up living with the Charming Four to assist them while they are on missions if they need her to be there and to find a way to stop Finn’s curse going further. I love Sage as she doesn’t take no for an answer and stands up to the Charming Four in a way that no one else has. She also knows what she wants and does everything possible to get it. The big one for Sage is to find a cure for Finn.

The Charming Four is a guild made up of four members. They are Prince Finn, Sawyer, Asher, and Colby. Finn is a fire mage, Sawyer and Colby are ice mages and cousins, and Asher is an earth mage but has no title, unlike the other three. The four of them are a well put together team, and they are in sync with each other. I love all four of them as they let their true personalities shine around Sage. They are all super protective of her as well. It’s adorable.

The Story

Sage starts at work in the library when she has to deal with the Charming Four stealing a book and Freddy telling on them by having books going all crazy until Sage stops it. She tries to get the book back, but it doesn’t work. Now, Sage discovers that Finn is cursed and wants to stop it by helping his guild with any medicinal problems they may have while on a mission. Sage proves to be a good ally for them, especially when it comes to dealing with the Crown Prince.

I have to say that I loved every minute of this book, especially the banter between Sage and all the characters. Part of me knew that the Crown Prince was bad news, and I was right, but I will let you guys find out what that bad news happens to be. Ms. Dalton has a winner on her hands with this book!

Five Stars

Bound by Honey by Jamie Dalton sees Sage and the Charming Four become like family to each other while on their missions. I fell in love with this book and am sad it is over.

I am giving Bound by Honey by Jamie Dalton five stars and a recommendation to anyone who wants to read it. It’s a nice fantasy romance read with a touch of coziness around Sage.

About Jamie Dalton

Jamie Dalton

Jamie Dalton grew up in the mountains of Oregon and Idaho and settled down with her introverted prince charming and their book loving toddler in North Carolina. She’s had a lifelong love affair with mint chocolate truffle cake, crispy chicken bites, all forms of pasta, deviled eggs… and now I’m hungry. Perhaps this is a little part of why all of her books have at least one recipe from within the story included in the back pages. She grew up dreaming of that perfect chocolate cake that Matilda helped eat. Of the feasts from the Lord of the Rings and the picnics in every single Jane Austen book. So she figured why not include a little sneak peek into how she viewed the worlds she created so readers could see, feel and taste it too! Promise, there will never be any olives. Olives are disgusting. Welcome to the inner workings of this authors mind as she entertains herself with fantastical stories in the hopes that someone else may be entertained as well.
