The only thing standing in the way of Cat renovating her late grandmother’s inn is one annoying handyman. If only he wasn’t so sexy.

Cat wants nothing more than to get away from her late husband’s overbearing family. Discovering her grandmother left her the sole ownership of a family resort in the Catskills town of Abbeydon feels like a chance for a fresh start. Her dreams come face to face with cold hard reality when she sees the dilapidated condition of the place. She rolls up her sleeves and gets busy, with help from the local handyman, who is too hot and too charming for words. But Cat has no use for playboys like her late husband.

Nate happily ignores the attentions of the local ladies, that is, until this ice princess, city girl shows up and challenges his contented solitary state. He figures Cat’s just gonna flip the property and get the hell out, but every time he thinks he’s got her pegged, she proves there’s more to her than he ever imagined, and it’s not all icicles.

An epic snowstorm strands them at the house and their chemistry overwhelms their resolve to resist temptation and keep things strictly professional. Then a developer sets their sights on Abbeydon and Bristol Park, threatening to ruin the cozy charm of the town, and making Cat even more determined to rebuild. Costs are mounting, and when she discovers Nate has a connection to the developer, Cat will need to learn to trust to save both the property and their relationship.

Reader advisory: This book contains mention of infertility and a miscarriage.

Abbeydon Attraction by Roxanne Blackhall is a beautiful story focusing on two people who find love after heartache.

Will Cat and Nate find love and save Bristol Park?

Caitlin Bristol-Corozzo

Our heroine is Caitlin, but she goes by Cat. She is a successful businesswoman, yet she has a ton of insecurities. She was recently widowed and then found out that a grandmother she didn’t know about left her a family resort on the edge of the Catskills. Seriously, these things only happen in fiction. But they give me hope some long-lost relative will leave me their property in their will.

Anyway, Cat is determined to succeed and stubborn. She will return Bristol Park to what it once was, even if that means swallowing some pride. I think Cat is a fabulous character. She has enough vulnerability mixed with strength that she is realistic. I was rooting for her from the beginning.

Abbeydon Attraction CRNate Stewart

Nate is the hero. He comes across as a handsome, well-built, all-around good guy. But that only scratches the surface. As he is so much more. It takes so much for these two characters to let their guards down so they can each heal. It took me a bit to warm up to Nate, as, like Cat, his facade is almost too good to be true. However, as their relationship grew and he opened up, I felt better about him.

The Story

The author admits that she may have had some errors in the property storyline, which I thought was fine. I would have thought that probate would have handled some of that, but it works for the story. However, I wanted to know more about why her mother and grandmother were estranged. Also, since the Corozzo family had to have done a background check before she married the firstborn son, why didn’t they know about it? Then again, the story is about Cat and Nate, not her family. So, it all works out in the end.

The supporting characters are superb. Ms. Blackhall has created a lovely world for her characters. I look forward to the installment.

Four Stars

My rating for Abbeydon Attraction by Roxanne Blackhall is four stars. The story is entertaining, and the characters are well-written. I do recommend Abbeydon Attraction to all you romance readers out there.

About Roxanne Blackhall

Roxanne Blackhall

Allow me to introduce myself… yeah, if you know my alter-ego, I really don’t need to, do I?

But… here we go…

My publishing journey has been a bumpy ride (more on that in other posts) but I’m so happy to announce I just signed a deal with Totally Bound and I finally get to introduce the world to Bristol Park and my sexy and sassy heroine Cat.

Not to mention the incredibly hot Nate—seriously, the man is written proof that competence porn is a thing. And he looks good doing it.

It’s gonna be a bit, because this thing still has to go through all the processes—editing, proofreading, a cover (squeeee!), etc. But here is where I’ll keep folks posted.

I made the decision to switch to a pen name—Roxanne Blackhall. Not like it’s some big secret or anything, but… I figured it was time for a little separation.

So, that’s the big news! Hi! Stick around. I’ll be slowly building this space up with writing resources, my fave editing and revision tricks, and just general writing chatter.

Taken from the author’s bio on her website!
