A MIDNIGHT KISS

Network:             Hallmark
Stars:     Carlos PenaVega, Adelaide Kane, and Pauline Egan

With only one week to prepare, Mia Pearson (Adelaide Kane) and her family of party planners are given the biggest job in their company’s history: a New Year’s Eve party for tech entrepreneur Kate Clark (Pauline Egan). But when her brother breaks his leg and her parents head off on a planned vacation, Mia must reluctantly enlist the help of her brother’s visiting college buddy, David Campos (Carlos PenaVega), to help her pull off the event which just so happens to fall on her favorite day of the year. But what Mia didn’t plan on was falling in love in the process.

My Rating:

four-stars

My Thoughts:

I thought this movie was great. The setting is perfect, the town was picturesque, and Kate’s house is so extraordinary. As for the story, super cute. I thought the characters were well developed with just enough backstory to help us understand their motivations. The acting was superb, not once did I go “really?”. Carlos PenaVega and Adelaide Kane had the right amount of chemistry. They made a believable couple.

Mia’s family of party planners are so supportive, even if she didn’t realize it. David’s character was cool, and I liked that he traveled a lot filming documentaries. Oh, and I am so glad that Mia’s parents showed up when they were needed at the party to assist wherever they were needed. I do wonder if they will actually be able to retire completely. Perhaps a semi-retirement might work best for them?

I liked this holiday movie, and I hope you have time to watch it. It’s pretty cute.
