Beth has been keeping Kluckin’ Good going strong since the finale of The Food Truck Showdown. She loves a good festival and couldn’t pass up the chance to attend the Bay Food Festival. Beth is a foodie at heart, and drumming up more business is always a good thing. I love Beth and her tenacity to solve a crime. Beth involving her twin brother and best friend is always a recipe for a good time. Riley, her best friend, encourages her, while Seth, her twin brother, is a lawyer who steps in to help her when she catches the police’s attention.
The Mystery
Beth doesn’t mean to keep finding dead bodies. Sadly, this time it’s Beth’s ex, and that is a load of trouble for both her and Seth. Beth wants to clear her and her brother’s names with the police, so she starts looking into things. I felt bad for Beth when she found out things she didn’t want to learn about her ex. Mostly on how terrible he is after their breakup. Beth’s ex is really a terrible guy.
Five Stars
My rating for Hot Wings and Homicide by Carmela Dutra is five stars. Ms. Dutra transports me to California whenever I am in one of her stories, and I am in a food truck with Beth. The characters I love in this story keep getting better and better. The ones I like the most are Beth and her best friend, Riley. Her brother Seth is just as much fun as Riley is while being the voice of reason.
Oh, don’t forget about the two recipes in the back of the book. They are Plucked and Truffle Fries to enjoy with Golden Gate Heat Wings.
