A Scoop of Deceit by Lena Gregory
Coffee & Cream Cafe Mysteries #7
Publication Date: March 10, 2026
Genre: Cozy Culinary Mystery
From author Lena Gregory comes another decadently delightful cozy mystery …
Spring has finally sprung on the south shore of eastern Long Island, New York, and Danika Delaney is ready to take a break from running her old-fashioned malt shop, the Coffee & Cream Café, to help her mom start planting for the season. With visions of colorful tulips and delicate daffodils in mind, Danika and her mother browse through the local garden center, where they can’t help but notice a confrontation between out-of-towner Sebastian Krane and the local cashier. Unfortunately, as Krane storms off, aggravated and not paying attention, he hops into his BMW, and crashes right into Mrs. Delaney as she’s backing up in her borrowed pickup truck. As if that weren’t enough to put a damper on her sunny mood, Krane then has the nerve to file a lawsuit against her. But when Dani shows up at his mansion to try to straighten things out, she finds him dead, with a knife in his back. Apparently, someone had it out for Sebastian. Someone other than her mother. A fact Dani sets out to prove with the help of her sidekicks, Gwen and Eli, wading through a slew of shady suspects from the victim’s stormy past. Can Dani clear her mother’s name and find the truth behind Krane’s murder? Or will Dani be in danger of pushing up daisies herself this spring?

Finally forced to escape the only way she can, Lyrielle begins her climb down the tower—but loses her grip.
Instead of falling to her death, she falls from her tower and out of her world, crashing into the waves of an ocean she’s never seen before. Now she must learn to trust the prince who pulled her from the sea, but she’s terrified to reveal too much of herself lest he use her the way everyone else has.
While searching for the mermaid who saved his life, Prince Tavric is shocked when he pulls a girl with impossibly long hair from the ocean. Confused by her sudden appearance in his kingdom, but drawn to her fascination with the world he takes for granted, Tavric is anxious to show her the wonders outside her tower. But his father is dying, and knowing he will take the throne all too soon, he worries if falling for Lyri means foisting a burden on her for which she cannot possibly be prepared.
When someone from Lyri’s world threatens to tear her from the new life she’s built, will Tavric be able to keep her safe, or will she be forced back to the life she fled?
A spellbinding and heart wrenching mashup of Rapunzel and The Little Mermaid, Tangled Sails explores the weight of our gifts and the strength of accepting help.

The Pie & Mash Detective Agency by J. D. Brinkworth
Publication Date: March 10, 2026
Genre: Cozy Mystery
Goodreads | Bookhype | BookBub | StoryGraph | Amazon
Oddball couple Jane and Simon take a private detective class and must use their (admittedly limited) skills to solve a series of mysterious disappearances in this delightful debut mystery.
Jane Pye and Simon Mash are a millennial couple with a little extra time on their hands. Jane was recently let go from her position as a back-end programmer, having never been quite sure what that meant. And Simon’s career as a corporate collaboration consultant seems to be less collaborating and more scrolling the internet in search of matching velour tracksuits and well-balanced charcuterie boards. When they sign up for a private detective class on a whim, they quickly realize they’ve bitten off more than they can chew.
Their instructor, having a feeling his two worst students don’t have a chance of solving anything beyond finding the classroom, assigns them the case of Nellie Thorne, a woman recently reported missing. But she’s not the first Nellie Thorne to disappear. In fact, she’s the fifth in fifty years. Jane and Simon set out to solve the case, armed with just a few days of notes, matching trench coats, and a feeling they should have enrolled in a different class. The investigation leads the newly minted Pie and Mash Detective Agency to places they never thought they’d go, including haunted woods, mysterious archives, and, most terrifyingly for Jane, Simon’s mum’s house.
As clues emerge, more questions than answers begin to pile up. What links the missing Nellies? Why do locals think she’s a ghost? Is their teacher hiding something? So what if they’re heavy on heart but light on experience. Jane and Simon are determined to uncover the truth in time to pass the class and save the day.
