For fans of Bridgerton, An Improbable Season is a swoony Regency romance by Rosalyn Eves about three young women, their big dreams, and a London Season gone awry.

When Thalia, Kalliope, and Charis set off to Regency London for their first Season, they each have clear goals — few of which include matrimony. Thalia means to make her mark among the intelligentsia and publish her poetry, Charis hopes to earn her place among the scientific elite, and Kalliope aims to take the fashionable ton by storm. But this Season, it doesn't take long for things to fall apart. . .
Kalli finds herself embroiled in scandal and reliant upon an arranged marriage to redeem her reputation, Thalia's dreams of publication are threatened by her attraction to a charming rake, and Charis finds herself an unexpected social hit – and the source of a family scandal that her heart might not survive. Can this roller-coaster Season find its happily ever after?

An Improbable Season is a voice, swoony regency drama about falling in love-with another person, with new opportunities, and with yourself.

An Improbable Season by Rosalyn Eves brings together two sisters and their cousin on their first London Season.

Will Thalia, Kalli, and Charis get their first Season?

Thalia and Kalli Aubrey, cousins of Charis Elphinstone, are heading to London for their first Season, each with their ideas of how it should unfold. Now the only question is: will the three of them actually get what they want to do?

Thalia Aubrey

Thalia Aubrey, the older sister of Kalli, waited a whole year to debut alongside her younger sister. Well, along with their cousin in London society, they were helped by their maternal aunt to get them through. Thalia is a poet and collector of words while enjoying adventure. She didn’t think that she would come out of the Season with a beau. I like Thalia.

Kalliope “Kalli” Aubrey

Kalli is different from Thalia in the way that she can’t wait to get married and run her own house. She truly wants to be there for her husband. Kalli is a homebody through and through and likes knowing the familiar surroundings of where she is calling home at the time. I like Kalli a lot, as I saw a lot of myself in her. Well, I am a homebody who cares about a lot of people.

Charis Elphinstone

Charis Elphinstone is a lady, but she doesn’t act like one. You see, Charis would rather spend her time in nature, surrounded by things that her science books or journals talk about at the time. Charis lives and breathes science, yet she doesn’t quite understand the pressure of the Season or why any woman should take their time to have a Season. I like Charis. She is different than her two cousins, and that makes it rather refreshing when you get to spend time with her in her chapters.

Four Stars

My rating for An Improbable Season by Rosalyn Eves is four stars. I recommend this book as it is a good young adult historical romance. Ms. Eves has a way of transporting me to Regency-era London to join these three girls as they debut into society and try to find husbands. Okay, one is trying to find a husband, another wants to write poetry in a new setting, and the last wants to be recognized for her scientific mind by the men instead of just a woman who doesn’t know what they are talking about. Ms. Eves is a great author.
