If there’s a way to her heart…
…he’ll jump at the chance!

CEO Shane Monroe sticks out like a sore thumb in Second Chance, Idaho, where he’s investigating his grandfather’s connection to the town’s folklore of stolen treasure. Feisty local Franny Clark ridicules his city-slicker ways but allows Shane to hunt for gold on her land…if he can help save her rodeo ranch. Shane is captivated by Franny’s go-getting attitude, but what will it take for him to win her over?

Lassoed by the Would-Be Rancher by Melinda Curtis is Shane’s love story. He deserves a happily ever after.

Will Shane get past his need to control everything to be with Franny?

Shane Monroe

Shane Monroe is the oldest of the second son’s family line. He has always felt he needs to be better than his siblings and cousins. Not in the way that he deserves it because he’s one of the oldest ones, but in the way that he wants to feel validated and like he deserves his family’s love. Sadly, with his grandpa’s will having them all get kicked out of their respected Monroe Holding positions, Shane doesn’t know what he can do. He’s used to being the big man in charge. For him, Second Chance is the biggest roadblock. I loved Shane in his novel since we finally got to the root of everything for him. The biggest thing I loved was that he grew into a great man who would be an excellent stepfather to Franny’s three little men.Lassoed by the Would-Be Rancher CR

Franny Clark

Franny Clark thought she had it all, and then, one day, she lost it all. She lost her husband and has been having a hard time keeping the farm afloat on her own. The Monroes scare Franny because they have all the power over Second Chance to change it into whatever they want except near her farm since they legally don’t own it. Franny is a mother of three and knows she can do anything she puts her mind to. I must say that I liked Franny and how she didn’t back down from anything Shane said. I loved how they butted heads a lot, and they made a cute couple.

Five Stars

I am giving five stars to Lassoed by the Would-Be Rancher by Melinda Curtis, and I recommend this series. Ms. Curtis has created such an interesting little mountain town, and I love how each Monroe has come forward in their books to do something to help the town out.

About Melinda Curtis

Melinda Curtis

Traditional Bio
Although Melinda has lived in Georgia and Texas, she’s a California girl at heart. Her earliest memories are of life on an isolated 50-acre sheep ranch in rural Sonoma County, California. Picture rolling hills covered in brown grass, a eucalyptus forest, a long gravel driveway lined with plump sheep and no sidewalks. It was a big deal to drive into town on a one-lane road in a ramshackle, bubble-fendered pickup for an ice cream.

Flash forward to this century. Melinda lives in California’s hot central valley with her husband – her basketball playing college sweetheart. With three kids the couple has done the soccer thing, the karate thing, the dance thing, the Little League thing and, of course, the basketball thing.

Melinda writes sweet to medium heat contemporary romances as Melinda Curtis and red hot reads as Mel Curtis.  She loves writing romances about women who don’t realize how strong they are until a hero comes along to show them, while capturing the wry humorous power struggle of falling in love – because, really, who lets the man have the last word?

The above bio and picture were taken from the author’s site.
