Could quaint Cobblewood Cove be a hotbed for black magic?

Genie and her ghostly great-great-aunt Adriana have been too busy with their gelato business and helping with the restoration of the old speakeasy to notice that something isn’t quite right in their small town.

Until pranks with touch of the macabre haunt the neighborhood, right before Halloween.

But it gets worse.

When a locked room murder case points straight at a connection to dark forces, the sleuthing duo fears for the living - and the not-quite so departed.

Can they root out the evil in their midst before it ends Adriana’s happy afterlife - forever?

Scroll up to grab your copy of Ghost and the Haunted House, book 4 in this cozy mystery series with a light paranormal touch.

Genie and the Haunted House by Carmen Radtke is set close to Halloween, so Genie and Adriana aren’t out of the loop on solving a mystery.

Can Genie and Adriana solve the mystery of the prankster? Along with why they would resort to murder?

Genie and Adriana Darling

Genie Darling has been, unwittingly, taking a break from making her jewelry to make gelato for her business, Gem and Gelato. Sadly, the gem part hasn’t come to fruition since she’s been too busy making gelato. Well, that and making sure Adriana doesn’t cause too much trouble.

Adriana is still doing fabulous from the last time we saw her. She still wants her necklace back but has been doing quite well with all of the Gilded Age things that Genie has put around her apartment for the two of them.

I love these two, as they are so much fun to be around.

The Mystery

In Cobblewood Cove, there have been several mean pranks going around. The pranks are all about witchcraft, and so the police think it’s harmless teenage pranks. Until a dead body in a locked room has them all wondering what happened. Not only that, but they want to pin it on the only one that could potentially do it. The owner of Bell’s Book and Candles was the only one in the building but in her soundproof apartment.

I have to say that I had a feeling about who did it, and I was right. The motive wasn’t one that I understood.

Four Stars

I am giving four stars to Genie and the Haunted House by Carmen Radtke and recommending it. This series is excellent, especially for the cozy mystery readers out there who love the 1920s era.

About Carmen Radtke

Carmen Radtke

Carmen has spent most of her life with ink on her fingers and a dangerously high pile of books and newspapers by her side.

She has worked as a newspaper reporter on two continents and always dreamt of becoming a novelist and screenwriter.

When she found herself crouched under her dining table, typing away on a novel between two earthquakes in Christchurch, New Zealand, she realised she was hooked for life.

The shaken but stirring novel made it to the longlist of the Mslexia competition, and her next book and first mystery, The Case Of The Missing Bride, was a finalist in the Malice Domestic competition in a year without a winner. Since then she has penned several more cozy mysteries, including the Jack and Frances series set in the 1930s.

Genie and the Ghost is her first paranormal cozy mystery.

Carmen now lives in Italy with her human and her four-legged family.
