Teenagers are being possessed and turning into sadistic murderers. Priests can’t help, nor can psychiatrists. So who is behind the demonic possessions? Jack Nightingale is called in to investigate, and finds his own soul is on the line.
Jack Nightingale appears in the full-length novels Nightfall, Midnight, Nightmare, Nightshade, Lastnight and San Francisco Night. He also appears in several short stories including Blood Bath, Cursed, Still Bleeding, I Know Who Did It, Tracks and My Name Is Lydia.

My take on this book: Wow this is the first book I read of the Jack Nightingale series and I must say that I was impressed by how well written New York Night by Stephen Leather. Once I got my hands on the eBook I was instantly hooked on it. Granted it took me a little bit longer than excepted to read this book but I didn’t mind it was a really good book.

I am giving this book five stars for a rating because it sucked me in and it was just an excellent read. I know, I know if it was such a good read why didn’t I finish it sooner is probably the question most of you are probably thinking. The reason for that is because sometimes real life takes over you for a little bit and that is what had indeed happened to me.

Jack Nightingale is a British supernatural private investigator that has a friend in the United States that wanted him to handle two cases in New York that had to do with the supernatural business well mostly Hell but yeah same thing. The reason this certain person contacted Jack about these two cases is because he couldn’t think of anyone he trusted better than Jack to keep an eye on the two cases and figure out with what is going on in New York and another state.

The evil agents from Hell kept jack on his toes. They twisted him all around New York staying a few steps ahead of him. Lilith was by far my favorite bad. As she kept a low profile, stayed in the shadows and kept the other bad guys in line. She has quite a mouth on her, and I like her snarky attitude.

I don’t want to spoil it for the people that haven’t read it since that is something that I don’t like anyone doing no matter who that person is. All I am going to say though is that this is an awesome read. However the previous six books sound just as amazing as this one. If anyone were to ask me about a good supernatural detective book I will most certainly tell them to read a Jack Nightingale book.

So, grab that hot chocolate, blanket and this Jack Nightingale mystery and you won’t have to go out in the snow.

Anyways until the next time enjoy this book review brought to you by
