Becoming immortal sucks.
Karli Lane is a hot mess. Her hormones are out of control, her heart can’t decide between two men, and most of her magic is still a mystery. To top it all off, a beautiful stranger with ties to the past shows up in Vegas, raising questions and wreaking havoc.
With her immortality fast approaching, new dangers lurk on the horizon. Secrets are revealed, making her question everything she thought she knew. Will she be able to get her act together in time? Or will she fall victim to those who wish to see her demise?

My Thoughts: 2nd Book in series – oh, ya!

This book is magnificent. I like the back stories on the characters and the tie ins. We get to know some new characters and some surprising changes in some characters we thought we knew.

Wow, becoming an immortal fairy is not something that I would want to do, between the sleep patterns, the hunger for food and the out of control hormones. Karli is doing her best to figure out her magic, yet there is so much that she doesn’t know.

I like the way the story is going and learning about how fairy magic works is so interesting. I also appreciate that Karli is a strong minded, competent woman. I think that Maria Alexander should watch her back once Karli is immortal, Maria maybe in trouble. I am giving this book a four stars rating.

I can’t wait for the next book….

About Laura Lee

After working a 9-to-5 gig for many years, she happily traded it for a rewarding career as a self-published author. Laura is the author of the bestselling Karli Lane series as well as the upcoming Dealing With Love series. She is a proud member of the Romance Writers of America focusing on paranormal, urban fantasy, and contemporary romance.

Laura’s passion has always been storytelling. She spent most of her life with her nose in a book thinking of alternate endings or continuations to the story. She won her first writing contest at the ripe old age of nine, earning a trip to the state capital to showcase her manuscript. Thankfully for her, those early works will never see the light of day again!

Laura lives in the Pacific Northwest with her wonderful husband, two beautiful children, and three of the most poorly behaved cats in existence. She likes her fruit smoothies filled with rum, her cupboards stocked with Cadbury’s chocolate, and her music turned up loud. When she’s not writing or watching HGTV, she’s reading anything she can get her hands on. She’s a sucker for spicy romances, especially those involving vampires or cowboys!

*A lonesome fairy with no clue how to wield her powerful magic.*A ruggedly handsome warlock torn between his past and his present.*A five hundred year old, sinfully sexy vampire who’s obsessed with solving the mystery of a particularly interesting bartender.
Karli Lane is the only fairy left on the planet. Vampires had driven her race to near extinction, causing the others to return to their homeland over twenty years ago. Orphaned at a young age, she was forced to hide her identity in a world full of exposed supernaturals.
Facing her upcoming immortality, her life has become a complicated mess. A new employer and a gruesome murder bring two incredibly complex men into her life, making matters worse. She finds herself riding a non-stop emotional roller coaster while trying to figure out who she is, how to control her powers, and most importantly, how to stay alive.

My Thoughts:        Hot, sexy and marvelously written.

First I have to say that this book kept coming up on my Amazon recommended list, and even though I liked the cover (yes, I am one of those people, who first judge a book by the cover), I wasn’t sure if I wanted to read another, fairy-warlock-vampire love triangle. Now, I am so glad that I did.

I truly enjoyed the story. The plot changes and the secrets kept my interest. The setting in a futuristic Las Vegas was different in a nice way. The story really fits there, with the whole “Sin City” thing going on.

The characters are so believable, lovable and reading their story is so entertaining. Karli and her best friend Erica have a great relationship. Some of the things that they say to each other, only best friends could get away with. Vance is sweet, the typical good guy, while Leo is by far not your average vampire.

The story sucked my right it. It is wonderfully written, with a touch of hot, blush factor. What an extraordinary start to an amazing urban fantasy series…
