Welcome to Nocturne Falls – the town that celebrates Halloween 365 days a year.
Jayne Frost is a lot of things. Winter elf, Jack Frost’s daughter, Santa Claus’s niece, heir to the Winter Throne and now…private investigator. Sort of.
When she buys a sealed box at an estate sale and cat-related circumstances cause that box to be opened, life in Nocturne Falls starts to go haywire. Jayne has no choice but to figure out what she unleashed and how to recapture it.
But Jayne suspects the woman behind the box is hiding something. Something that could cause a town resident serious trouble. Or worse, to lose their life.
With the help of her two favorite guys, a sexy vampire and a hot summer elf, and a few new friends, Jayne tackles what feels like an impossible mission. And winds up almost iced herself.

Mysterious pranks and a talking Spider…loved it!

Miss Frost Ices the Imp by Kristen Painter is the second book in the Jayne Frost Series, which is set in Nocturne Falls. You know the town where they celebrate Halloween 365 days a year.

I really Jayne. She is smart, cute and she finds trouble fairly easily. She is dating two gentlemen, Grayson, a vampire with a sketchy side and Cooper, a summer elf that she dated in college. I like that Jayne is true to herself in this situation. It will all work out itself out.

I love the characters, Ms. Painter does a delightful job creating these wonderful characters and the inspiring lives. The mystery part of the book was good. I could follow the clues and everything made sense.

The narrator Hollis McCarthy did a fabulous job. She uses different voices for the characters which I thought were so great. She seems to match up very well with the description of the characters in the book. I really loved Spider’s little voice.

My rating is 5 stars. I highly recommend this series and the Nocturne Falls series. I also recommend the Audible book, the narrator was top notch. Between the author’s story and narrator’s voices, this is so outstanding.

Welcome to Everlasting, Maine, where there's no such thing as normal.
Charlotte Fenchurch knows that, which is why she’s not that surprised when a very special book of magic falls into her hands at the library where she works. As a fledgling witch, owning her own grimoire is a dream come true. But there’s something…mysterious about the book she just can’t figure out.
Leopard shifter Walker Black knows what’s odd about the book. It’s full of black magic and so dangerous that it could destroy the world. Good thing the Fraternal Order of Light has sent him to Everlasting to recover it and put it into safe storage. If he has to, he’ll even take the witch who owns it into custody.
That is until he meets Charlotte and realizes she’s not out to watch the world burn. She’s sweet and kind and wonderful. Suddenly protecting her is all he wants to do. Well, that and kiss her some more. But dark forces seem determined to get their hands on the book, making Charlotte their target, and Walker worries that he won't be able to protect her from them – or the organization he works for.
Can Walker and Charlotte survive the onslaught of danger? Or is that just witchful thinking?

Dark Magic can’t beat the true light of love.

Witchful Thinking by Kristen Painter is the fourth but not final book in the Happily Everlasting Series, two of the other authors will be releasing their next installment soon. The story takes place in Everlasting, Maine a small town along the coast, “where there’s no such thing as normal.”

OK, this book had me from the very beginning. I absolutely loved it. There is a dark underbelly side of Everlasting, Maine. It was so great to see the town from a different perspective. I have to say I did miss Hugh and his alternative swearing.

We start with our female lead, Charlotte. She is a young librarian working at the local library. She meets lots of townsfolk and knows her regulars. She is kind of gullible. She is also a very new witch, who really hasn’t learned how to use her powers yet. She is sweet and lives a very modest life, with her cat Edgar Allen. Charlotte likes books, all books, it really doesn’t matter. Charlotte doesn’t have much confidence in herself when it comes to men. She considers herself plain and ordinary. She really doesn’t date much. She takes people at their face value. I did mention she is gullible, maybe a little naïve too. However, for me, her saving grace is her love of chocolate. She is really a sweet person. I liked her immediately.

Walker Black is just visiting Everlasting, well actually is on an assignment. He is in Everlasting to find the spell book filled with dark magic. According to his employers, the spellbook will return to the Everlasting and he has been going there to look for the book. Where he runs into Charlotte. Walker is very good looking, a smooth talker and Charlotte is immediately drawn to him. Walker is many things but being witch-friendly isn’t exactly one of them. He is kind of the opposite.

We meet a few new characters in Everlasting, not too many of the ones from the other books. Oh, the Sheriff, herself is actually in here a lot, personally and professionally. Then, of course, we have the deputies, too. There are a lot of dark characters, I won’t go into their details so I don’t spoil anything.

You have to read this book, it is that fabulous, and my rating is 5 stars. Yes, I recommend it if you haven’t already got that.

Welcome to Nocturne Falls, the town that celebrates Halloween 365 days a year.
The tourists think it’s all a show: the vampires, the werewolves, the witches, the occasional gargoyle flying through the sky. But the supernaturals populating the town know better.
Living in Nocturne Falls means being yourself. Fangs, fur, and all.
Monalisa Devlin is a Will O’ The Wisp, a rare and potentially dangerous creature. Unfortunately, her greedy father makes sure she lives up to that potential. Monalisa is magically compelled to obey her father’s evil commands—until he finally agrees to free her in exchange for one, last mission: Travel to Nocturne Falls and use her powers to force Ivan Tsvetkov back into the ring.
Once a champion on the supernatural MMA circuit, Ivan ‘The Hammer’ Tsvetkov retired after a devastating injury that left him unable to shift into his dragon form. Wounded and embittered, Ivan wants nothing more than to be left alone. Until an infuriating, stubborn, delicately beautiful stranger shows up on his doorstep and demands that he rebuild his life.
Posing as a rehab therapist seemed like the easiest way to get close to the smoldering recluse, but Monalisa quickly realizes that nothing about this mission is going to be easy. To gain his trust, she shares more of herself than she ever has before, and as their connection deepens, so does the weight of her secrets. She thought she was willing to do whatever it took to win her independence...but when her deception blows up in her face, will Monalisa discover that the loss of Ivan’s heart is too high a price to pay? Or will their love rise from the ashes to burn stronger than ever?

Just because he is all muscle doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a brain or heart.

The Dragon Finds Forever by Kristin Painter is the story of Ivan “the Hammer”, a paranormal mixed martial arts champion, a dragon and Monalisa Devlin, a Will O’ The Wisp and daughter of the King of Leprechauns in Las Vegas.

Ivan is injured in a match that Monalisa’s father rigged. Now she has been sent against her will to bring Ivan back to Las Vegas for a rematch (preferably before he is healed). Their story is full of freedom, growing love, respect, and a sort of coming of age. I love the way Ms. Painter incorporates the supernatural world in a growing romance. I believe in the way she allows even those with darkness around them to find the one that compliments them and empower each other.

Oh, yes and if Nocturne Falls were a real place I would be moving there…and I don’t plan to drink the water. My rating for The Dragon Finds Forever is 5 stars. If you haven’t read this series yet you should give it a try. I hope you like it as much as I do.
