When Darcy is hired by Elodie Keaton to clean up her missing mother’s disorderly home, the Wishcrafter is certainly up for the task. After all, the motto of her Aunt Ve’s personal concierge service As You Wish is “No Job Impossible.” But beneath the piles of old newspapers and knickknacks, Darcy discovers something much more disturbing: Patrice Keaton’s body.
Darcy’s determined to give Elodie peace of mind by investigating her mother’s disappearance and death. Patrice was last seen over a year ago after a fight with her Charmcrafter boyfriend. Was her murder a crime of passion? Or were Patrice’s troubles caused by the Anicula, a wish-granting amulet? Now Darcy has to find not only a killer but also the Anicula— before the power of ultimate wish fulfillment falls into the wrong hands…

A Witch Before Dying by Heather Blake is the second book in this paranormal cozy mystery series and I have to say that this one is just as good as the first one.

Can Darcy find out who killed Patrice before maybe the gem show leaves?

Darcy Merriweather

Darcy Merriweather is the main character and she is again our sleuth. She unknowingly accepted a job to pack up a hoarder house only to find a dead body. Darcy is trying to be a good wishcrafter. She is trying to start a relationship with Nick but its not really working. She is trying to get back into creating art but that is still not really happening.

The Mystery

The mystery started when Elodie asked her to pack up and clean her mom’s house. Sadly, Darcy ends up finding Patrice, Elodie’s mom, body. Darcy is tasked by herself to wanting to figure this out so that she could find out not only who the killer is but if the killer will just leave…again? There is a lot of suspects one of them being the boyfriend of Patrice.

Five Stars

A Witch Before Dying by Heather Blake is easily amazed how anyone could get wrapped up into a story that you swear is real. Just like this one. I give this book five stars and I am recommending it. Ms. Blake is a great author. I love that in each new book we get new characters. Either as a tourist or apart of a group that can come back in the future at some point. I do love Darcy and Nick’s budding relationship.

She’s a total homebody who loves to be close to her family, read, watch reality TV (especially cooking competition shows), drink too much coffee, crochet, bake (mostly cookies), and occasionally leave the house to travel to the beautiful mountains in the northeast.
